NoiseGauge does not collect any personal data. All sound level measurements are performed locally on your device. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs.
NoiseGauge requires microphone access to measure ambient noise levels. The audio signal is analyzed in real-time on-device using AVAudioRecorder metering and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. Only aggregate power levels (dBFS → SPL) are computed — no raw audio leaves your device.
NoiseGauge offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions unlocked via Apple App Store. All payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
App preferences (such as calibration offset and free session counters) are stored in your device's local UserDefaults and never leave your device.
NoiseGauge uses no third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking services.
Smartphone microphones are not laboratory-grade instruments. NoiseGauge provides sound level estimates suitable for general awareness, not regulatory, occupational, or medical decisions. For compliance measurements, use a certified Type 1 or Type 2 sound level meter.
NoiseGauge does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and contains no user-generated content.
